The circular economy is a model in which resources are kept in use for as long as possible, extracting the maximum value from them while minimizing waste and pollution. In the context of event management or your business, this could involve sourcing materials and services from local, sustainable suppliers, and finding ways to reuse or repurpose items after the first use.
For example, an event organiser could work with a local catering company that uses seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients and provides compostable or recyclable serving ware.
After the event, the organiser could donate any unopened food to a food bank, and work with a blend of onsite composting and sorted waste management company to properly dispose of any compostable or recyclable materials.
